Back with another nail polish review!
Today it’s Yves Saint Laurent nail polish in Surprising Rose‘s (#7) turn.
Color&Pigmentation. Definitely the name suits this polish, I couldn’t describe this old-rose color with better words. It’s darker in the bottle, but it can be easily build up on the nails to have the same “dark” shade. The pictures show only one coat and so, it appears lighter than the bottle. The pigmentation is perfect for a pearly finish.
Application. I have to be honest with you all and say that this polish is between 6 and 8 years old (
I KNOW!) so my judgment concerning the application isn’t very reliable. I don’t know about *new* YSL polishes, but this one is quite sticky and it needs to pay a lot of care while stroking it. I am sure this depends on its age and it’s definitely not about quality. I remembered this polish was extremely easy to work with, years ago.
Longevity. As usual with no top coat, it lasted more than 5 days. Pretty awesome for a 6-8 years old polish! 😛
Packaging. I love it. Gold colored cap and square bottle. Very elegant and timeless. Plus, golden box!
Store&Price. I literally don’t have a clue. It was a polish that my momma bought back in the days when makeup wasn’t that hyped. She told me she remember buying it on sale (maybe for 10€). YSL is sold at Sephora, though and the YSL polishes are about 20€.
Overall: 8/10. Definitely a keeper. I am extremely sad that it got so old and that this color is probably discontinued (I should check at my local makeup shop, though). Plus, I feel like it’s a very classic color and even if years have passed it can be easily worn without looking “old-fashioned”. I really love it and I love the fact that it gives timeless and elegance to my hands. It reminds me of my long and stunning grandma’s hands.
So, YSL polishes. Have you tried any? Are they any good like this one?

Hello, hair lovers!
Today I’ll introduce you to The Queen of Heatless Styles: Miss beautyklove!!!
Keren recently turned 23 (thank God for a beauty guru of my age, ahah!) and I discovered her channel maybe two months ago. I had to watch each one of her hair videos and you should do that too. I was amazed by
her stunning (super stunning) hair how good she is with hair.
She literally is The Queen of Heatless Styles of the web. I guess she never ever used a hot tool in her videos! If you love to have natural nice waves, curly hair, super bouncy hair or anything that doesn’t concern heat, she’s the one for you.
She is the most creative hair guru I’ve ever seen and she truly inspired me to experiment with my own hair! I know (and we all do) there are tons of tutorials using socks or headbands to get curls, well..she does it with straws. Yes, straws. You read right!!!
(These ones reminds me of the Arwen/Galadriel’s hair in The Lord of The Rings, but I still haven’t found the right thick straws to use! :/)
Oh, and what about her cocoons??? You should check this amazing technique right now!
Her channel is about makeup too, anyway, but I guess she is (and feels) at her best with hair! 🙂
She really is very clear in her tutorials and I feel like she has a very cheerful and sunny personality! She has a super contagious smile and she’s really nice! She has always, and I said always, replied to my comments!
She’s simply a keeper!!!!
Don’t miss her talent, go and watch her videos!!! 😉
Hope this suggestion was helpful!

Here’s a new review. I’m talking about the Pupa Milano Glitter Nail Polish in Silver #817.
Color&Pigmentation. As the name says, the polish is a clear one with silver glitter. It’s not a glitter top-coat kind of nail polish, it’s actually a polish of mere glitter. The pigmentation is quite good, but not awesome: as you can see from the picture, some of the nails are still visible. It’s definitely better than other glitter polishes I’ve tested. Plus, in the picture I have on only one coat of it and I decided to stop coating the polish to avoid the “3D” effect.
Application. Not that easy, unfortunately. The fact that it’s a clear polish mixed with glitter makes difficult to paint the whole nail properly. I guess, it’s something quite common for glitter polishes, though.
Longevity. It lasted 4 days without chipping, but then I decided to remove it. I think it would have lasted longer.
Packaging. Classic Pupa bottle. I like the silver cap on this one: it matches perfectly the polish color! 😛
Store&Price. I found it at Acqua&Sapone (an italian drugstore) and I paid it 3.90€.
Overall: 7/10. I like it. At least I’m not disappointed by it. I think it can be made better, but there are tons of “fake” glitter polishes on the market and this one is definitely the best I ever tried. Plus, I love silver, I’ve always did. I find it very festive, but also very elegant. I wore this polish for New Year’s Eve and I was feeling so happy on how my nails shined! 😛 I may not wear it on daily basis, but it’s a great color to show off on special parties/occasions. Plus, the nice thing about it is that it can easily used for nice and elegant nail arts, just using nail dotters (or toothpicks, as I do) or french manicure sets. Just to add a little bit of sparkle!
On a side note, I was wearing the Essence Peeling-Off Base (the Limited Edition one) under it and a clear top coat above the polish by Kiko. I’ve read good reviews about the peel-off base, but mine doesn’t work at all. I applied everything quite easily, but when I decided to remove the polish, I find it almost too dry and it wouldn’t peel-off at all. It was stuck on the nails as a normal polish.
Can’t lie, I was going to cry. 😦 The only thought of removing a glitter polish with a regular nail polish remover was scaring me. X°D I found the courage to use it and, lucky me, I realized that the polish would actually peel-of after putting come nail polish remover soaked cotton on the nail for less than a minute. So, at the end, I managed to remove it completely in about 15 minutes.
Do you happen to know why this base doesn’t work properly? I remembered that somebody said that the Limited Edition base wasn’t as good as the Essence regular peeling-off base, is this true? Help me! 😦 Because, if it is, I’ll buy that one!
Anyway, any of you tried good glitter polishes? Let me know!

I’ve planned to write this post since Christmas day and I actually took photos the day after Christmas, knowing that I would post them here. I’m super late, though!!!! =( It really isn’t too special, just the nice little things I got for Christmas!
Here’s the overview.
Then, let’s check every item.
My parents and my sis joined to buy the Clinique “Whole Lotta Colour” set of Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm. Here are the five colours in the set: Curvy Candy, Chunky Cherry, Super Strawberry, Oversized Orange and Richer Raisin.
I’ll try them out and I’ll post a review or a “close-up” look post about this set! 😉
My sister got me some pressed eye shadows (named: Unicorno, Peaches&Cream, Limelight, Bonbon), the blush Emoticon and a set of four light mineral foundations so that maybe I’m lucky and I can find the right match! Everything is by Neve Cosmetics, an italian brand of mineral makeup.
Mom and Dad got me a Chanel Lipstick (my very first one!) from the line Rouge Allure. It’s the #95, called Enjouée. To be honest, I personally picked up this shade and I soon regret it because the same day I went to H&M and bought the lipstick Darling Pink which I realized is basically the same as the Chanel one. Huge bummer. 😦 I’ll talk about that in a future post, hopefully!
There are also two Chanel samples of a hydration and an eye cream.
My aunt and her family got me a Pupa Milano palette. It should be #02. I’m not completely sure if I’m going to use this palette., the colours are not my favourite. 😦
And that’s it!!!
After Christmas I tried my best to fit everything in my single makeup drawer, but I realized it’s completely full of stuff (old&new) I like but that I don’t use. I promised myself that I won’t buy any more makeup until I finish up something.
That’ll be a future broken promise, I know. But, really, I’ll try my best to avoid drugstores and makeup stands. I will, I will.
Hope it was an interesting post, sweeties. I really hope you had a wonderful and blessed Christmas with your loved ones and I wish you again a Happy 2013!

Hello, pretty people!!! ❤
How are you? The holidays? I hope everything went as you planned and that you got nice surprises!
Today I’m going to cheat a little and show you my week mani I had during Christmas. I know, it’s not that festive speaking of colors, but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought! 😉
I used the Essence nail stickers (#7, “all or nothing” – light pink background with black lace details on top) on two fingers and on the other three a Kiko nail polish in #208, which is a nude pink with some little sparkles in it. Perfect to match the background pink of the stickers!
I must tell you that the stickers were easy to apply, but I struggled a lot to find the right size to stick on the nails. As you can see, I just did it on two nails instead of five, just because I couldn’t find the right size for all of them! 😦 Speaking of longevity, they lasted quite fine for three days, then some started chipping and cut at the edges.
Hope you liked it!
Have a nice week.
